Red Kiwi Catering News
Trip of a lifetime!
After supporting the local charity, Benin Christian Support for the last 18months, Hayley from Red Kiwi has taken up the opportunity to travel to Benin to see where the money given to the charity is being spent. Between 11th – 25th November she’ll be visiting the sponsored schools and orphanages and reporting back via her blog (www.my-benin-blog.co.uk). Although there won’t be any changes to the service offered by Red Kiwi during this time, we would ask that you phone us rather than emailing whenever possible during this time as emails will only be checked once a day (rather than continuously during normal times).
Buffets to Suit has had a makeover!
As of Tuesday, 22nd May 2007, Buffets to Suit has a new name, and new image! Red Kiwi Catering is a new division of Buffets to Suit Ltd.
Exactly the same owners, staff and quality of service but with a new name, new image and new menus! We've made the changes to reflect the extended range of services we've grown to provide over the last five years. (The Buffets to Suit name will continue – but it will now specialise in funeral catering.)
We still offer all types of catering - from simple business buffets to four course sit down meals but we’ve expanded to offer a complete event management service. Our menus have been improved - with a much wider menu selection. (You'll be pleased to know our prices haven’t increased though!)
We now also hire table decorations (vases, flowers, candles, etc.) and can also provide rose petals for your tables. Please get in touch if you would like further information, or see here.
So, whether you're a harassed PA in need of a little organisational assistance, or a bride-to-be who wants some advice on which starter to choose for your guests, feel free to give Red Kiwi a call!
Wedding Fayre, 1st April 2007 at The Town Hall, Colchester26th Feb 2007
Buffets to Suit will be exhibiting at the fayre from 10.30am to 4pm. If you're planning a wedding this year or next, why not pop along to meet us? As well as many different types of exhibitors in The Moot Hall, there will also be refreshments available in the Grand Jury Room (with all proceeds going to charity). For more details, please take a look at www.exhibition.buffetstosuit.co.uk Hope to see you there!
Three Course Sit Down Meals are back on the menu at Buffets to Suit!
20th February 2007
After repeated requests we've decided to offer sit down meals again for customers holding an event at The Town Hall in Colchester. We stopped offering this choice during the upheaval we suffered last year, but with the excellent facilities now on offer at The Town Hall we have reinstated the menu.
We still feel that for most occasions a formal sit down buffet is enjoyed more by your guests (the feedback from these type of functions is always wonderful because guests enjoy being able to make their own choices and also being able to go back for seconds – and even thirds!), but for some occasions a sit down meal is more suitable.
You'll find our three course menu here. As always, please contact us if you've any questions.
The drinks are on us!
6th February 2007
As a thank you from us, the bride and groom (or whoever's party/event it is) will be provided with complimentary drinks from our bar between 7-12pm at their function in the Town Hall. We think that as you've taken the time and effort to arrange the event for your friends, families or colleagues, you should be rewarded on the day! There are a couple of conditions such as the offer excludes champagne and the drinks are only to be consumed by the person we’ve served them for, but apart from that it's all straight forward. This offer applies for all bookings for 80 guests or more, taken from 1st February 07. Enjoy!
Sir Ian McKellen attends Colchester wedding!
29th January 2007
After lots of discreet whispering between our staff, it was eventually confirmed that the charming gentleman sitting on the top table at a recent wedding we catered for in Colchester was indeed Sir Ian Mckellen! Obviously we're not going to divulge where or when this happened but we're happy enough knowing that Sir Ian said he was pleased with his meal when asked. In future though, we may ask our customers to let us know when a famous guest is attending so we can have our autograph books handy!
A Happy Christmas to all our customers!
16th December 2006
We'd like to take this opportunity to wish all our business and private customers a very happy Christmas and New Year.
This year we've decided not to send Christmas cards but instead we've donated money to our sponsored charity - www.beninchristiansupport.org.uk The money will be spent on either providing the children in the orphanage with a small Christmas gift, or, if there's no money left this month for food, on providing a meal on Christmas day.
We're looking forward to 2007 which already looks set to be one of our busiest years so far.
So, as always, thank you for choosing Buffets to Suit and have a wonderful Christmas!
Eggs used by Buffets to Suit Ltd
16th November 2006
Yet again there are warnings in the press today regarding salmonella found in eggs imported into the UK. Whenever possible, Buffets to Suit source their produce locally and this always includes our eggs. We order all our eggs from a local butcher who buys them directly from a local farm in Tiptree, near Colchester. So please be assured that as always, we take the quality of our ingredients and food very seriously and that no eggs used by us are involved in the current scare.
